Book holders with height and angle adjustability, the keys to ergonomic comfort

How They Work

Height Adjustability
Height adjustability of documents is of crucial importance so that the cataloger can maintain a straight neck, and not have to bend it to look down at books on the work surface – or worse, on the lap! Keeping the neck bent for long periods of time, especially if it is bent to one side, can cause extreme neck and shoulder pain.

Height adjustability is accomplished by moving the shelf up or down. The three stainless steel pins of the shelf can be placed in any of the parallel holes shown on the Atlas-LC. This simple adjustment takes only seconds to make.

The height adjustability range of the Atlas-LC is more than 6 inches. However, very tall persons or those with unique work station configurations may want a booster box. These can be made any height. Click me for a larger view!
Angle Adjustability
The Atlas-LC will adjust to any angle from approximately 15-50 degrees from the vertical, so that the user can be in the most comfortable position during work.

To adjust the angle, the dowel that supports the back of the book holder is loosened. The dowel is then moved along the grove in the base until the desired angle is obtained, and the dowel tightened. This requires very little strength.
